Strategy Statement

Vision: SLE Global aspires to be the most renowned and premier community brand in Sub-Saharan Africa. As real estate investors, we create value by actively developing, financing and managing, prime residential, leisure and commercial property to provide the environment in which modern communities can thrive. These communities should be safe, secure, affordable, sustainable residential, working and leisure spaces supporting all residents and other stakeholders’ well-being.


Market: The enormous housing deficit in Sub-Saharan Africa will not be solved by the preferred business model of developing and selling in the current economic surroundings. To solve the large housing deficit, the investment community has to support the housing market by investing in a rental portfolio. 


Approach: By optimizing the building and its facilities, creating economies of scale, and minimizing the non-necessary non-revenue-generating area one can offer competitive rental prices while offering a superior product.


Our main Purpose-Built Rental target markets are:


Purpose-Built Student Accommodations: Our premier focus is to develop a high-quality student accommodation rental portfolio on or close to the campuses of the foremost universities of Sub Sahara Africa.


Middle-Class Residential Rentals: Another important focus is to develop an institutional class rental portfolio. By doing it large scale it can raise interest from institutional investors and get the economies of scale that will allow the affordability of the portfolio.


Commercial Rentals: To support our communities we also focus on developing a high-quality commercial including leisure rental portfolio complementing our local residential communities and creating additional SDG impact.


Crucial for our income model is:


The development and financing model: This model optimizes project size, construction technologies, construction costs, and asset management benefits. It allows us to build up a portfolio and leverage it to develop a pipeline of projects and diversify the risks by spreading the risks and revenues over various projects.


The operating model: This model allows us to maximize the occupancy of the projects and generate a steady stream of cashflows. The model will also allow us to generate additional income cash streams for auxiliary services.


The housing deficit will allow anybody who invests in housing to make money. Yet our unique selling point is that we want our projects to be of a very high standard in comparison to our competition. This will give us a loyal tenant base that will want to stay with us continuously in all phases of their lives. Student > Young Professional > Family Stage and finally Retirement Stage.


Exit: By setting up a development company, an asset company, and an operational company we prepare for an efficient exit strategy for each activity from the very first day. This will align SLE Global with the investors.
