Mission: SLE Global aims to create communities where residents, students, young professionals, travellers, and visitors can reside, work, relax, mingle, network, cooperate, and thrive. These communities should provide safe, secure, affordable, and holistically sustainable residential and working spaces that support the well-being of all residents and stakeholders.
Community: We strive to establish a safe and secure community for all stakeholders. Our residents, visitors, and employees should feel at home within their local community.
Well-being: Our residential and working communities are dedicated to fostering a healthy environment and a positive atmosphere.
Sustainability: We are dedicated to instilling sustainable living practices within our communities and suppliers, benefiting both the immediate and future environment.
Design & Technology: Our goal is to offer our stakeholders appropriate design and robust technologies that enable them to enhance their residential and working spaces and share these experiences with others.
Vision: SLE Global aspires to become the foremost and most distinguished community brand in Sub-Saharan Africa. As real estate investors, we generate value by actively developing, financing, and managing prime residential, leisure, and commercial properties. Our aim is to foster environments where modern communities can thrive. These communities are envisioned as safe, secure, affordable, and sustainable spaces that support the well-being of all residents and stakeholders.
Market: Addressing the substantial housing deficit in Sub-Saharan Africa necessitates a departure from the prevalent business model of developing and selling properties in the existing economic landscape. To effectively tackle this housing shortfall, the investment community must contribute to the housing market by investing in rental portfolios.
Approach: The provision of competitive rental prices alongside superior products is achievable through the optimization of building structures and amenities. This approach involves creating economies of scale and minimizing non-revenue-generating spaces.
Our Primary Purpose-Built Rental Target Markets are:
Purpose-Built Student Accommodations: Our primary focus is the development of a high-quality student accommodation rental portfolio situated on or near the campuses of prominent universities in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Middle-Class Residential Rentals: We are also committed to developing an institutional-grade rental portfolio. Pursuing large-scale operations can attract interest from institutional investors, leveraging economies of scale to ensure portfolio affordability.
Commercial Rentals: In support of our communities, we emphasize the development of a top-notch commercial and leisure rental portfolio. This complements our local residential communities and contributes to additional Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) impact.
Crucial to Our Income Model:
Our development and financing model optimizes project scope, construction technologies, costs, and asset management advantages. This empowers us to build a diversified portfolio and leverage it to create a project pipeline, spreading risks and revenues across various projects.
Our operational model maximizes project occupancy, generating a consistent cash flow. Additionally, the model facilitates supplementary income streams through auxiliary services.
While the housing deficit presents profitable investment opportunities, our differentiating factor lies in the exceptionally high standards we set for our projects, surpassing the competition. This unique selling point fosters tenant loyalty, ensuring a continuous tenancy cycle—from student to young professional, family stage, and ultimately retirement.
Exit:
By establishing development, asset, and operational entities, we proactively prepare for efficient exit strategies from the project's inception. These exit strategies are aligned with our investors' interests, promoting a mutually beneficial outcome for SLE Global.
With local partnerships, SLE Global strives to develop affordable accommodations and create safe, secure, and sustainable communities. Our actions, projects, and businesses aim to indirectly and directly support the following United Nations Sustainable Development goals:
Goal 1: No Poverty
Our objective is to offer all employees fair wages, long-term commitments, and private retirement plans. We provide long-term contracts to local farmers and other small business suppliers to ensure financial resilience.
Goal 2: Zero Hunger
We aim to offer healthy, nutritious, affordable meal plans to all students and employees. Additionally, our farm-to-fork approach involves close cooperation with local rural communities to enhance their food production.
Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being
Our objective is to grant access to primary healthcare services, medicines, and vaccines to all participating students and employees through affordable collective insurance, provided through alliances with local healthcare and insurance organizations.
Goal 4: Quality Education
Our campuses are designed, developed, and operated to create a self-sustainable live-work-learn environment that enables students to thrive. This environment fosters cultural and international diversity and provides a gender and disability-safe, accessible atmosphere.
Goal 5: Gender Equality
Our campuses create a safe and secure environment where both genders can thrive. Gender-specific student accommodations and sanitation facilities are provided, while communal areas, sports facilities, study areas, etc., are equally accessible to all.
Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation
Our campuses utilize purified local water resources to provide each student with a minimum of 4 litres of the highest quality potable water daily, along with 24/7 access to kitchen and sanitation facilities. Additionally, wastewater is treated and reused for irrigation.
Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy
Our goal is to supply 24/7 affordable electricity and warm water using a combination of renewable energy sources, including solar collectors and biomass gasifiers.
Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
We aim to create sustainable communities and employ locals for day-to-day operations. Students are encouraged to support and gain paid work experience socially. Furthermore, our farm-to-fork approach supports local, sustainable production.
Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
Our focus is on retrofitting the hospitality industry by deploying innovative, sustainable, resource-efficient building, water, and energy technologies. Exposure to these technologies will encourage greater adoption within local industries.
Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities
Our policy ensures equal opportunities and fair wages for students, employees, and suppliers, regardless of age, gender, disability, origin, religion, or economic or social status.
Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
Our objective is to provide safe and affordable accommodations with essential services, communal and publicly accessible facilities. Local and rural communities are integral to the value chain, fostering sustainable student livelihoods.
Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
Our campuses offer environmentally friendly accommodations with minimal energy and water footprints. Waste is collected separately, recycled, or used for energy and irrigation. Students actively participate in this holistic approach.
Goal 13: Climate Action
We recognize that daily campus life provides an excellent opportunity to shape sustainability awareness among students. As a result, our campuses are designed, developed, and operated to demonstrate to students the impact of their daily actions on the climate.
Goal 17: Partnership for the Goals
We actively collaborate with international and local partners to introduce and finance sustainable technologies and methods within our campuses and beyond. This approach supports knowledge sharing and aims to achieve necessary sustainable impacts.
